Hello Theresa,

Why do you need to convert to .rtf? This format, although supported is
proprietary and the results of the export are often disappointing (as
you discovered :-) ).

If the recipient does not need to edit the document you are much
better off exporting the document as pdf.
If the recipient uses MS Office Word and wants to edit the document
you can either export as .doc (OOo will do a fine job in 99% of the
occasions) or tell the recipient to install the Sun plugin that allows
opening odf files in MS Office Word.
