> If you downloaded from www.openoffice.org the file should be OK and your
problem is 99.9% certain to be cause by your Anti-virus (AV) software
believing the file is corrupt. Please try the following:
1. Disconnect your computer completely from the internet (pull the
modem/router plug from the phone socket).
2. Disable your AV software
3. Run the file you downloaded. You will not be able to register because you
don't have an internet connection; just say "register later".
4. Enable your AV
5. Connect to the internet; never leave your computer connected to the
internet if your AV software is not running properly.

You can also check for a corrupt file by following the steps under
"Instructions for using md5sums" at <
http://download.openoffice.org/2.4.0/md5sums.html>.

If you still have problems you might want to consider buying the software on
CD from one of the suppliers listed on the web site. Note that we don't
recommend or guarantee any of these vendors; expect to pay not much more
than 10 USD + P&P.
