If you don't know or can't guess the password you can't open the file.
Well, you might be able to find a program that will "crack" it - use
your favourite search engine to find such programs. Mine gave 233,000
responses to the search for "openoffice password crack".
If you know the password you just enter it when asked.
If you are having a problem with this and want us to help you, you
need to provide a little more information. Which flavour of which
Operating System are you useing? Which version of OpenOffice? Exactly
what happens when you try to open a password protected document? Did
the document come in Microsoft Office 2007 format? If so then
OpenOffice can't open it anyway.
