The shout answer is yes - the not so short answer is - it won't be done
the same was as in MS Access.
However - if you are serious about converting an accounting package then
you might be interested in a project that is just now getting itself
organized.
A few weeks ago an individual posted to the [EMAIL PROTECTED]
mailing list about possibly porting an existing accounting package
(currently only available for the MS Windows OSs) to Base ( read that to
mean, implement it using OpenOffice.org as the UI platform ) and looking
for folks that may be interested in getting involved. ( the ported
application would be released as Open Source )
Since then a few of us have been actively working on specing the project
out and putting together the road map to getting it off the ground. If
you are at all interested please drop me a direct email and I will send
along what items are already put together, even if you are not
interested in working on the particular project there will be some
valuable information for you I think....then again there is plenty of
work to make this happen and another view point and set of hands would
be most appreciated.
