Michele, the problem is, that I do not exactly know, how the MSWord-author of that document has achieved this.
Suppose you have two parts in your document: Part A and Part B. However, it is still one document with one table of content. Chapters in part B should outline independently from Part B, here an more detailed example than in the MSWord snippet: A.1 A.1.1 A.1.2 A.2 A.2.1 A.2.1.1 A.2.1.2 A.2.2 A.3 B.1 B.2 B.2.1 B.2.1.1 B.2.1.1.1 B.2.1.1.2 B.2.1.2 B.2.2 B.3 B.3.1 B.3.2 Michele wrote: > 2008/5/16 Rolf Schumacher <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: > > >> Dear list, >> >> I was given a Word document >> http://august.de/files/attach/OOO/2008-05-16.doc which restarts the >> outline numbering in the middle of the document.
