Using OOo 2.4 Writer on Ubuntu. When I select cells in a table and apply a number format the formatting does not take unless there is a number alrready in the cell. You cannot apply number formatting to empty cells. This makes it really tedious to enter data in the cells - you have to format after each number as you enter it.
