Sorry a couple of things I left out.

Here is a quick and dirty way

Drop the list into calc in column A
sort the sheet by column A so that any possible duplicates are after each other
In column B put a formula that is =IF(A1=A2;"dup";"") and copy this down for the 32,000 rows
Then select column B, edit | copy
Go edit | paste special and deselect formulas. Click OK
Then sort the sheet by column B
remove all the rows that have "dup" in column B
select column A and copy and paste it wherever you want it

Also if for some reason the original order was important you could add another column and fill it with the numbers 1-32000 so that after the manipulations so far you can resort back to the original order but without the duplicates.

no more duplicates

i have around 32000+ words that are paragraph separated (each word on another line/paragraph). there are duplicate words which i would like to get rid of. how can i go about this in writer?

this is actually two different word list files in writer. one is around 14000 words, the other 18000. i tried to use the compare document tool, but i could not isolate the 4000 word difference between the two, so i combined them to form the 32000 list.

i'm running 2.4 and 3.0 on xp media center.
