Er, common sense would be not using an email client that runs
'payloads' in email messages. I would love to hear of a real-world
scenario where an automatic email macro would be used for
non-malicious purposes.
Many years ago, the IT department where I worked used to use this
"feature" to roll out updates. I'm not saying it was good practice...
it was just how they did things. The employees would start up their
email in the morning, see a message from the It guys... click on it to
read it, and it would immediately - with no other user interaction
launch an install or update. There was no way to stop it once the email
message had been opened.
