This is incredibly annoying. Is it possible to disable this hiding of styles?
There is a window at the bottom of the Styles and Formatting window
providing a drop-down list of style groups. You can set this to All
Styles if you wish. (The reason that moving to character styles and
back solved this is that you must have had a style group selected
that applies to paragraph styles but not to character styles.)
