How do I get data from Base into Calc so that I can export it as a .csv?
o In the database window, select Tables from the Database panel on the
left.
o Select the relevant table in the Tables window at the bottom.
o Go to Edit | Copy (or right-click | Copy or Ctrl+C).
o In the spreadsheet window, go to Edit | Paste (or right-click | Paste
or Ctrl+V). (Or you can use Paste Special... if that is useful.)
Alternatively, you can just drag the table icon from the database window
onto the spreadsheet.
I trust this helps.
But the question is, why?
If you are using a standard Base file then just export the data to text
file, csv or otherwise.
Hey Drew, I could not find where to export the data as a csv. I need to
upload it to a mysql database.

hello keith,
The ability to do this is supplied by the HSQLdb database engine - Base
currently does not have a GUI front end to that functionality, although
since 2.3 if you crate a linked text file to the database the Base UI
does distinguish it with a separate icon.
The HSQLdb documentation covers the user of TEXT tables, which is what
will do this. There is also a nice example on the community forum - err,
don't know the post number off hand, but can find it.
Finally - would you like to try a GUI front end that would allow you to
create these files in Base?
