such as voice dictating

Tell the voice recognition companies to get their act
together, and pay attention to the real world.

Ask them why they won't release their software under an Open
Source Licence.

someone would get that through their head and make that voice dictating
program available, NOW! :-)

FWIW, there are programs that do voice input/voice
recognition for Linux. They just aren't very good.

To Jonathon, et al: I have asked and can get no answer from the only company producing any voice dictation software successfully. However, I then asked on a forum for Knowbrainer and was told that until someone can find a way to make some MONEY from a voice dictation for Linux OS, that it is pretty well a lost cause! Linux voice dictation was ABANDONED by IBM for that very reason, just as was OS/2, which is an orphan product, now! :-(
