Hi OOo users,
I installed OOo3-dev on a vista machine and there are a few issues that seem to be related. When I insert a picture in writer the default picture is always XPM X Pixmap (*.xpm) which I have no idea what is but I would like to make the default picture format .jpg so I don't have to change it every time as if I don't change it, there are no images listed to choose from, junt an empty folder as I have no images of that type. Then if I change the picture type to .jpg and insert the picture, I can not save the document in any form besides .doc. If I try to save it as any of the open document types, I get an error message that says:
X ERROR SAVING THE DOCUMENT
Error in writing sub-document styles.xml

So I save the document in windows xp format and it saves the file ok. Then when I want to export the document to .pdf so I can email it to somebody, I get an error that says the document is already saved and do I want to overwrite it. I have the box checked that says auto-extension and if I add the .pdf to the end of the file name I no longer get the error message. This is the case regardless of the extension that I am trying to save as. In other words the auto-extension box being ticked is not working. If I save as any file type I still get the message unless I type in the extension. If I type in the extension and save then it does save properly in the correct format.

I still have not found out how to add OOo as a default program to open files as it is never on the list to choose from when I say browse for application. I have tried the instructions from 3 or 4 different posts but Open Office is never able to be added. I can get over that though until the real release but I wonder if I can download a newer version of OOo3-dev and will it keep my settings and templates and just over write the old program or is it just better to quit using OOo3-dev for real work?
Floyd
