I found after a couple of more tries that the links are updating. maybe
that was just a slight glitch with my system (or is anyone experiencing
the same?) anyway, i found that when i tried to edit the formatting of
say, Heading 1 in the original document, the next document that contains
a link to that section does not inherit the changes to the formatting
(changing Heading 1 font size to 80%, default to 10pt, etc...)
