No. The Beta is designed to live alongside a production version. Note
too that it does *not* install itself as the default program for
OpenOffice documents; it doesn't even offer the option AFAIK.

Ps. Will the new version be available in transportable form.
You'll need to ask the folk at www.portableapps.com about that; they are
independent of OpenOffice. My bet is that they will release a portable
version of OOo 3.0 soon after it goes commercial. I don't think they
release Betas but I don't want to put words into their mouths ...
