Can you do it in a Calc spreadsheet, then insert said spreadsheet into
the Writer document?

If you really mean a table cell - a cell in table in a Writer document,
that is - then I don't see that there is any way to do this. If this is
actually a cell in a Calc spreadsheet, then see other replies.
