OpenOffice.org (OO.o) is not Microsoft Word. It is a different product. It can never hope to be better than Word if all it does is copies it, that would leave it forever in the realms of also-ran. Re your subject: OO.o utilises styles far more than Word does; having character, paragraph, list, table and page styles. So what you want to do is to reset the default paragraph style, then save your new document as a template. You may also wish to set the default template to your newly saved template. You will find all the answers you need in the writers guide and the migration guide. Both available from the website documentation page. http://documentation.openoffice.org/ http://documentation.openoffice.org/manuals/oooauthors2/0200WG-WriterGuide.pdf http://documentation.openoffice.org/manuals/oooauthors2/0600MG-MigrationGuide.pdf If you then still have a, perhaps more specific, question. Please do not hesitate to return to the users list with it. NOTE: Cross posting to two lists will actually reduce the number of replies you get as many will see this no-no as time wasting and frivolous. The discuss list is not for asking help on. Please reply only to the users list and please reply inline (interspersed).
