That's a poor attitude and totally uncalled for.  If another person's 
frustration bothers you all that much, then just move on.  No one forced 
you to read ... or respond to ... that post, neither of which you 
accomplished since you totally avoided providing any useful information.

Most windows users are used to applications placing an icon on the 
desktop and maybe even in quicklaunch.  Even office, when it's 
preinstalled, comes with the icon/s on the desktop depending on the 
amount of OEM bastardization that took place.

I did notice when I checked out BETA 3.x that it did place an icon on 
the desktop; it looks like they might be going to do that finally.  Then 
you'll have fewer uncalled for statements to make.
