You need the password to open it. Without the password, there isn't any realistic way to open it. It may go without saying, but that's the purpose of password-protecting a file -- that it can't be opened w/o the password.


There is an OOo macro available that takes a list of possible passwords and will attempt to open the file. If your password was a random sequence of letters and/or numbers, it won't work.
