I recently changed the appearance of my toolbars and saw that there were
several choices. I recently had to reinstall Oo 2.4.1 and saw that the
appearance choice is now only the default. I really liked the more
colorful Firefox-type buttons and would like them back again on Writer.
Can you tell me what I did and how to do it again? Thanks so much for
helping the helpless newbies as myself.

Information About Posting Questions To OpenOffice.org Support
-------------------------------------------------------------
While there are other OpenOffice.org support forums available,
"official" support is provided by the [email protected] mailing list.
Unlike most mailing lists the support list does accept "moderated" posts
from anyone who is not subscribed. It is recommend that you do not
subscribe to the list immediately, unless you are prepared to receive
copies of every email sent to the list.
When posting to the list, please keep in mind that you are communicating
with thousands of other users, who volunteer their time to answer any
questions about OpenOffice.org. The support list is very busy, sometimes
receiving in excess of 100 messages per day.
IMPORTANT: You should also be aware that, full details (including email
addresses) of ALL messages posted to that list are publicly available to
anyone with an Internet connection. Once a message has been posted, it
CANNOT possibly be removed or modified in any way.
It is also possible to access the list via the Gmane "news.gmane.org"
NNP (News Network Protocol) group "gmane.comp.openoffice.questions".
For more information about accessing Gmane go to:

Recommendations For Asking Questions And Requesting Help
---------------------------------------------------------
1. When composing the message in your email client (eg. Mozilla
Thunderbird, Outlook Express, etc.), put [email protected] in the
"To:" field and your own email address in the "CC:" (Carbon Copy) field.
This may seem like a strange suggestion, but because of the way that
list operates, this will improve your chances of receiving useful
answers. Also, mention in the body of your email that you are not
subscribed to the list.
2. In the subject line, give a short (about 6 - 10 words) informative
summary of your question or issue. Subject lines with meaningless
exclamations (eg. HELP!!!), tend to receive less attention. Remember the
list has a very large number of posts and is supported by volunteers who
give up valuable time to help.
3. In your message, include specific information about the OS (Operating
System - eg. Linux, Mac, Solaris, Windows, etc.) and version you are
using (eg. OS: Windows XP - Version: Home Edition)
4. Also include specific information about the version of OOo you are
using (eg 2.4.0)
5. As far as possible, try to give specific detailed information about
the issue you are experiencing and what steps you had taken when the
issue arose.
6. Provide the "exact" text of any notification/error messages you are
seeing. Otherwise, specifically say that there are no such messages being
displayed.
Here Is An Example Of A Bad Post
(If answered, it will be a request for more information)

Subject: Problem!!!
Message: It don't work! What can I do?
--------------------------------------------------------
Here Is An Example Of A Good Post
(Almost guaranteed to get an early worthwhile reply.)
--------------------------------------------------------
Subject: Error Message When Opening Documents
Message:
I am using OpenOffice.org 2.4.0 on Windows XP Pro SP2.
The program has been working well, but today when I try to open
any document in the Writer program I get a message saying:
"OpenOffice can not be started due to an error..."
How do I correct this?
I am not subscribed to this list, please cc me.
--------------------------------------------------------
Almost all issues and/or problems arise from one of two causes:
a) The user's misunderstanding of the software's functions and/or how to
use it.
b) A local problem with the OS and/or the software configuration on the
user's computer.
Every day there are millions of other people using the same software, on
computers similar to yours, so please be "open minded" about
answers/information you receive from the list.
If you follow the above suggestions, you will have a very good chance
that one or more of the volunteer list subscribers will be willing and
able to assist in resolving your issue.
