I've been doing some fine tuning of a presentation and have come up
against some odd behaviour. My presentation started out, many years ago,
as a Powerpoint file, then moved to Kpresenter, and then on into Impress.

I have a text boxes down the left side of a slide, and an image takes
up the right hand side. One of the text strings is too long to fit in
the space available. My first instinct is to hit the return key but
that makes a new text box. On some of the existing text boxes I found
I could resize the box which forced a 'newline' into the text at the
appropriate point. That's fine. However, some boxes just refuse to
do this. I can't see any difference between the boxes apart from this
behaviour. Is there some way of telling Impress to do this?

I've had to split the text into two text boxes which seems illogical
as it's a continuous sentence.

Any suggestions?

Oh, this is OOo 2.4.0, running on a Toshiba Equium under Ubuntu 8.04LTS.
I'm thinking about moving up to 2.4.1 but too many other pressing demands
at present!
