OpenOffice is available only as a complete package. The various
components are not available separately. Download the latest version
from www.openoffice.org and you will have everything. Why do you think
you didn't get Writer?

I actually didn't download Openoffice myself. Another user did.
They must have deleted some things.
That's entirely possible. If you select custom install, you can specify
what components you want.
