I am writing a thermodynamics essay with many equations. For volume I
use "V" and for specific volume I use "v". When I write with a pen I
use "V" with a tail on top to indicate velocity and distinguish it
from "V" (volume). What symbol is accepted || available in OOo to
represent velocity? I had considered using the Greek Nu, but I will
likely need that one for Posion's ratio in the near future.

I am on Open Office 2.4 in Ubuntu if there is a difference in
available symbols by platform. Thanks in advance.

Dotan:

I dusted off some old college books in calculus and physics, plus a Google search. Some use 'v', others use the italic 'v'. It can be bold to denote the vector. It can be capitalized to denote the vector. Italics seems to be more common in my college texts.
