I want to subscribe as advanced user of openoffice.org in Colombia to have the opportunity to receive support technician and to solve questions that sometimes arise in connection with the use of this magnificent software. I want to be included in some list or in some Community of Users of Openoffice.org of Hispanic speech. Nevertheless also I speak English.
I have an experience of something more than one year working with Openoffice.org (Write, Calc, Impress...), installing this software and taking note about the most common flaws that we observe during their daily use in the administrative offices of one of the biggest Banks in Colombia. Now, I can announce to you that the Bank Davivienda of Colombia uses Openoffice.org like a part of its Software Standard in its administrative offices in Bogotá and in general in the whole country. I say this with the certainty of having been the leader of a human team that last year had the mission of to install Openoffice.org in the administrative offices of that Bank and to demonstrate the kindnesses of this software to solve a problem related with the lack of licenses of Microsoft Office and also for the high cost of those licenses. The Bank Davivenda of Colombia, in that moment, had the necessity to find a free software that not alone it was reliable but rather it was also cheap. Then we find a good alternative in Openoffice because it was not only reliable and but also of free use. The installation was made initially in some 1500 machines of the Bank Davivienda of Colombia and that quantity has increased because the Bank Davivienda bought the Bank Bancafé. Therefore, OpenOffice now is known thoroughly in the Bank Davivienda of Colombia and its employees have also given it to know among their friends and family. My name is Albert Acer. I work for the company ASIC Engineering ( www.asicamericas.com) that at the moment offers the service of Support Technician to the Bank Davivienda of Colombia for the outsorcing modality. I also use Openoffice.org in the computer of my house and I have worked with the following versions: Openoffice.org 2.0; Openoffice.org 2.1; Openoffice.org 2.2; Openoffice.org 2.3; Openoffice.org 2.4 (and OOo 2.4.1). I know that very soon he/she goes to be liberated the version OOo 3.0 and I am very anxious to know it and to prove it. I am also professor of Computer Systems in an Institute of non Formal Education in Bogotá, in schedule nocturne, and there I have also given to know the product Openoffice.org among my students. These are the reasons that I have to request you that allow to subscribe as member of the Community of Users of Openoffice of Hispanic speech. Also desire to know if in Colombia there is some leader between the users or suppliers and distributors of Openoffice.org to make contact since also with him or them desire to offer as volunteer to promote the use of Openoffice.org.
