I was looking for a method with which to make all frames, which enclose
the imported graphic and the caption, as wide as the body text width.

What I have done for now is to modify the Graphics frame style so that
it is 100% wide (relative). This way, I import the graphic, type in the
caption, and change the frame style to Graphics.

This is the best I could find so far. I was hoping to find a way to tell
OOo to apply a certain frame style, e.g. Graphics in my case,
automatically to every new graphic and caption I create.
