Help! I am unable to print documents originally created in Microsoft
Word and Excel. When I open up an existing document, it
automatically opens up with Open Office, but when I click

I get is a blank page. Does anyone have a solution?
Thanks,

Have you defined a print range? Try marking the area you want to
print, then FORMAT -> PRINT RANGE -> DEFINE.

For Writer documents the concept of Print Ranges doesn't really exist
except that you can ask to print either the whole document or a series
of [ranges of] pages. This option is under the File>Print dialogue. You
can also select to print left pages only, right pages only etc. Choose
at File>Print>Options.
For Calc documents Print Ranges can be used to specify sheets and/or
cells to print. However, as you have discovered, the default range for a
new document is "all" which is achieved by setting the range to "none"
(!!!!). Perhaps your document has somehow acquired a print range. Go to
Format>Print Ranges>Edit and ensure the range is set to something you
like the look of - as I said, "none" to print the entire document. Save
the document after making any changes and your setting should be
remembered. Also, with the Format>Print Ranges>Edit pane open, click its
Help button to give more details about creating Print Ranges.
If none of this helps come back here with details of what you did and
we'll have another think.
