It sounds as if you haven't really installed the software. Please read and carefully follow the installation instructions at http://download.openoffice.org/common/instructions.html Once you have completed the installation there will be a "group" in your Start>All Programs menu. Within the group will be an entry for each of OpenOffice's components: Writer, Calc, Impress, Base, Math and Draw. If this doesn't help please come back here with precise details of what you did and what happened, particularly the exact text of any error messages you got.
