That's too bad, as the doc needs a lot of work. I tryed this in fhs.odt; I opened it with an archive manager and extracted the styles.xlm, then with an xml editor (I used kate) I changed the WW8 styles that were 'Symbol' to 'Numeric Symbols'. I then put that styles.xlm back in to the odt and for the most part it cleans up a lot of the WW8 list styles. There are however, issues with some bullets rendering as Windings, some sentences changing fonts mid-sentence etc., and the only way that you can tell is if you safe the modified odt as a doc file and scroll through. Overall I think that the document can be cleaned up & reformated properly, but 330 pages will take you a few days to get it all corrected. > > Thank you all for your attention. > > Specially, the doctor noted: > > When dealing with large documents, OpenOffice is more stable than MS Office. > > OpenOffice may have its bugs, but it crashes less frequently than MS Office. > > The doctor did not try any beta version ;) Let the doctor know that it's a pretty interesting paper :-) --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
