I am attempting to setup mail merge on a new computer system that is
Vista based. I have tried with 2.4.0 and currently with 2.4.1
versions of OOo.
The OOo help system instructs me to use File->Templates->Address
Book Source to setup the address book database for a mail
merge. When I attempt to do so and select "Windows system address
book" under the Administration button, it responds back with "No
Outlook Express Address book exists."
This seems to have been reported at
http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=91079 - but this does
not describe any progress.
When I reviewed the options in Windows Contacts for exporting the
database, it does not provide a choice for the old address book format.
As a workaround, do the options provided include any format that can
be accessed by OpenOffice? (See Other external data source |
Settings | Database type for possibilities.) Sorry, but I do not
have Vista available to test this.
I trust this helps.
