The most (all?) big carriers dont support sip at the moment. They all are working on it, but there are quite a few problems with the voip infrastructure. Telefonica told us, that they will support SIP in a few months. And Carriers dont use (Open)SER or Asterisk as softswitch. They are using something like Cisco PGW, Siemens HiQ or similar. There are still some problems with it. I hope they will fix it soon.
