I don't want to add a vnetdev but i want to give a guest a real and full access to the ethernet card itself. The wiki says it's possible with vzctl set VEID --netdev_add ethX but it retunrs an "invalid argument" error.

It works for me. You have to ensure that ethX is up on the hardware-node before assigning it to the guest. ethX doesn't need to have an IP address assigned but it does need to be active.

But you need to explicitly accept arp and forwarding. And you have a virtualised stack so I don't know if you can use the ethernet card offloads capabilities ?

Thank you for your help !
Hope this helps,
Kel
