sounds right to me: shutdown the vms, put data-center to maintenance (actually means put all domains to maintenance - i guess this part is nice to have but not must) then put hosts to maintenance (not sure you mentioned that) then you can shutdown any server in any order. > Any thoughts or ideas/suggestions on the above, can the ovirt-engine > somehow be told to shutdown the VM's and hosts etc? > well writing a script to do that shouldn't be hard using the API, but the question how to trigger it?
