As far as I remember, I have tested it only with XPI as the problem was, that the value was not sent back from the server and not an issue with the plugin itself. If it is not working with ActiveX while working with XPI, I would maybe suspect the plugin itself or our communication with it (e.g. the client.HostSubject=... is maybe not the correct call for ActiveX).
