If you didn't select any, this rule won't do anything. Every amount of time the engine will check if one of these VMs is on the host. If so it will check the possibility to migrate it/them away. Soft affinity indicates that if it won't be possible, that's fine and the VM will stay on that host, on the next check iteration the engine will try to do it again.
