I have been using PDFBox for a project and I noticed a behavior change between version .8 and 1.0. I narrowed it down to change 885904. Before that change, Strings (full words) were being added to TextPosition in PDFStreamEngine.processEncodedText (ln471). After change 885904, single characters are being added to the TextPosition (ln 479) . I found having the characters group into words more useful. I was wondering what the reason for the change was and if it was possible to extract out the full word as it was inputted.
