I copied the description from the specs. The value is a pdf string, which is internally represented in between parentheses.
What I find confusing is that the creation date is just a plain Calendar object while this has to be such a uniquely formatted string. Maybe it would be helpful to write a converter that takes a Date or Calendar object and converts it to this format, and then add something in the documentation about using it for these types of methods?
Good idea. Please file an improvement issue on JIRA so that it won't get lost. Any patches are welcome ;-)
