Don't feel bad. We all started somewhere, some time ago. I've made plenty
of mistakes myself.

The objective of my answer was to illuminate the problem.

Error told you about line and null pointer exception. On that line, you had
>File f = new File(pdfFile);

So, you would need to check pdfFile, if it has been assigned a value or not.

That is how one would go on debugging these errors. Usually, you just need
to look in the stack trace for clues.
