Hello and happy new year. We've experienced a text placement issue when creating a PDF with PDFBox and using a proprietary font owned by one of our customers. We suspect that this issue is related to font embedding and font subsetting. We are using PDFBox 3.0.5.
We re-tested using an old version of PDFBox version 2.x. The problem did not reproduce. We believe we've found a regression. We'd like to submit a bug report, but we think that if we raised a Jira ticket in the PDFBox system and uploaded the TTF file for the font as an attachment to the ticket, that this would essentially redistribute the font to the world at large. We do currently have permission from our customer to redistribute the font. We are unaware of any way to reproduce the issue without the TTF. Does a mechanism exist to share a file privately with the PDFBox library maintainers without making it publicly available to everyone on the internet? If so, maybe we could send a copy of the TTF of the font through that private channel and still demonstrate bug reproduction. Thanks and Regards, Larry Lynn p.s. We really appreciate all of the great work you've done on the PDFBox library. -- *Larry Lynn* *Staff Software Engineer* *Workiva Inc*. *448 E. Main St, Bozeman, MT, 59715*
