Hi, everyone. Thank you for your feedback so far. Here's another go.

Update:
    http://people.apache.org/~jross/transom/2013-04-16/
Previous version:
    http://people.apache.org/~jross/transom/2013-04-03/
Head version (if you want to follow things as they change):
    http://people.apache.org/~jross/transom/head/
The source code:
    https://github.com/ssorj/transom

The bigger changes:

  - Book content is now generated using the site templates

I spent about a day on this. It's workable, not perfect. Docbook
(and its standard tooling) is no way to live. I'd love to, next
cycle, look at moving in a new direction. The tool "pandoc" is
pretty nice, and in one of my experiments I was able to use it to
generate (mostly better) html from docbook. It would work with
other, nicer input formats as well.

  - "Discussion" - In place of what was "mailing lists", I've
introduced a top-level discussion page, collecting together the
humans-talking-oriented mailing lists and chat info. The
notification lists are moved under "More Resources".

  - Isolated the alternate methods of getting Qpid to their own pages,
packages on the one hand, maven on the other.

  - Added content at the top of the download page pointing to current
and past releases and alternate ways of getting Qpid.

  - Made the Proton page more similar to the Qpid front page, with a
    what-is-it box and column layout.

  - Imported a snapshot of the current Messenger doc.

  - Added a component page for the C++ broker tools.

  - Added a "developer central" with links and content for
    high-priority developer tasks.

  - Reduced font size as discussed in the update 2 thread.

  - Added list archive search and a revision goto

Thanks!
Justin
