Works for me on Fedora 20, can't recall seeing that fail before. Connection aborted usually means the broker crashed, but then you have a bunch of subsequent tests passing so that doesn't seem likely. The test is doing something freaky with a fake transport to simulate hanging and testing timeouts when closing hung connections. Any chance you have heartbeats configured in the default config file location (/etc for example) Looking at the run_test script it looks like it does not have the test broker load from a dummy config file, which it should to avoid picking up the default config file.
