In looking at your logs again I noticed that the year listed changed from 2015 to 2008 after the last heartbeat was sent. Having a poke at the client and proton, I can see this would indeed cause problems and have made a change via https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/QPIDJMS-136 to address that.
