[Proton-c] How to find out the content of the message received

Hello guys,
In the JMS implementation of Qpid, when the consumer receives a message, he can 
do instanceof tests to find out if the message received is of type TextMessage, 
BytesMessage, etc...
Is there something equivalent on c/c++ side using Proton-c?
