Hi Alex (and others) I'm a huge advocate of Rebase in GIT. Please check this [1], since it could make your life easier. Doing in a branch rebase periodically helps you to solve conflicts soon and ensure your work are synced with develop, so when you need to merge the entire branch you'll find no conflicts and your code should just work.
