The emulation components have mx.collections.ArrayCollection and if filter isn’t working, it is just matter of getting it to work.

Just notice that AC extends LCV, while AL is not extending ALV, but use is very similar since you have filterFunction and sort. I think what you said is that UI Sets like Jewel use AL instead of AC, while emulation components are already using AC/LCV classes.
