I suppose you mean servicemix-jsr181 ? servicemix-service-engine is not a component. The main difference between jsr181 and cxf-se components is that the first one is based on XFire and the second one is based on Apache CXF. XFire is not developed anymore, so the component will be deprecated over time in favor of the cxf-se component.
