I've been trying out some basic scenarios using the ServiceMix ODE JBI
Component to confirm the possibility of sending and receiving
attachments and message (and exchange) properties using BPEL, but I
haven't been able to come up with any answer. I've been having a look
at the ODE User Guide and it doesn't mention either one of them, but
it does mention something about headers, so I've thought maybe that's
the way to go. I've done a few tests to try the headers out, but
again, I haven't been able to obtain any result to solve my doubts.

So, can anyone confirm me if it is possible to send both properties
and attachments across ODE? If it is possible, please tell me if it is
done using Headers as I think or if there is any other way. I've seen
an old post written by Alex Boisvert saying the following about
attachments through ODE:

"There are a few options....

1) Use Base64-encoded values in your message payload
2) Pass around HTTP URLs pointing to your attachment
3) Use the ESB's handler chains to bind your attachments to the message on
its way out."

I get the attachments from an external web service, so does this mean
I'll have to put some logic to treat the attachments before they reach
the ODE Component?

Thanks in advance.

Sebastian Gomez.
