So the first thing is to use the <http:consumer/> and <http:provider/> endpoints and make them work. Then you could look into using your own marshalers. Does the stack trace you posted refers to these endpoints ? What kind of response is received by the provider ? if you put the logs to DEBUG, you should have some informations about the response displayed in the logs / console.
