Hi John,

There are some major differences between Servicemix 3.x and 4.x. The most
significant of them being
Servicemix 3.x is a pure JBI 1.1 implementation that is hosted on a
Spring Container
Servicemix 4.x on the other hand is an OSGi implementation that hosts
JBI artifacts as well as Camel and CXF artifacts.

If you are a newbie and interested in JBI then I would recommend Servicemix
3.x for now since Servicemix 4 still needs some JBI creases to be ironed
out.

On the other hand if your interest is in learning OSGi and JBI and bleeding
edge stuff then you should tackle Servicemix 4. But be advised that you may
need to sort out all the concepts prior to delving in this area.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Ashwin...
