Let me try to help you work through it.  From the new install, could you try:
- installing the commons-dbcp bundle
- installing the MySQL driver bundle
- configuring the ActiveMQ persistence as you posted earlier

When all that is done, can you send us:
- an osgi:list which shows the status of the bundles you deployed
- the messages you find in the log file, so we can start
troubleshooting it that way

I'll try to keep up with whatever you need to do in our wiki so at
least you're the last user that has to figure this out the hard way
