JB's right - extracting a second KAR file with bundles that are already present will simply overwrite the bundles in the file-system, it will not cause the bundles to get redeployed.

Hi Sergey,

ServiceMix 4.3.0 will be based on Karaf 2.1.x. So KAR archive will be
supported.

In the case of several kar provide the same bundle in the same version,
it's exactly like a feature, if the bundle is already deployed, it won't
be deployed a second time and no error will be reported.

FYI, we're working on a centralized tool for deployment: all artifact
are in a location and pushed to target (like Karaf and ServiceMix). I'm
working on Apache ACE for that. It's not yet ready but we do our best to
make a release soon.

Hi there,

I'm depeloping an OSGi application that will be run under the ServiceMix 4
and I'm interested in what is the best way to deploy such an application
under the ServiceMix.
I have tried to use maven proxy such as nexus to deliver bundles and
features, but in case of instability of that maven proxy deployments fail.

I'd like to try to deploy applications as KAR files which seems to fit my
needs but I wonder if there are multiple bundles of the same version in
the different KAR files what will be the behavior of the ServiceMix? Is it
going to try to resolve, start, etc. the same bundle in different KAR
files multiple times?

I'm also interested in whether it is possible to deploy KAR files in the
ServiceMix? It seems that there is no such a feature in the karaf 2.0
which ServiceMix 4 built on.

Best Regards,
Sergey
