Even we can release karaf 2.2.3 soon which certified to suppot java 7,
it also means that we need a new cxf and camel release which based on
karaf 2.2.3.
Moreover, currently per the discussion here[1], there's still some
issues for cxf with JDK7, mainly security related, and here is the
camel with jdk7 discussion[2].
That said, to claim servicemix 4.4 support jdk7, we need release karaf
2.2.3, and also new cxf, camel, probably activemq which all support
jdk7, but I don't think this is doable for smx4.4 release, which is
scheduled for a long time and already actually started the release
process(like release bundles, archetypes)

isn't it worth to give it at least a try? We can/and will release

Someone has to test with the current Karaf Snapshots, Java7 and an

project. If e.g. camel 2.8 refuses to work with java7 that will
present a
complete different situation at all of cause; but if it works I
think 4.4 is
still an option, isn't it?
